About Jim Hart In December 2004, Jim was selected by the Men's Journal as one of the "100 Best Trainers in America." This considerable honor reflects Jim's commitment to helping people improve their health and get fit by changing how they view exercise, nutrition ... their entire lifestyle! Jim will be the first to admit that he wasn't always fit and healthy. Twenty years ago he was way overweight and badly out of shape. And he worked hard to lose 60 excess pounds and improve his fitness level. He now competes in amateur bodybuilding competitions - at the age of 45! - and uses his first-hand experience and comprehensive training to coach beginners and veterans alike. In addition to the experience and wisdom that comes with over 20 years in the fitness business, Jim has the credentials that you look for in a professional trainer and nutritionist:
But with Jim there's something a bit out-of-the-ordinary. He holds a Master Chef Degree from the Philadelphia Restaurant School, and he owned and operated his own successful catering business for years that provided "Hart Healthy" corporate catering. Using his "master chef" training ... AND his experience with eating habits and nutrition … AND his A.C.E. and Nutritional Lifestyle certification training … AND his education in exercise physiology and kinesiology … AND twenty plus years of experience in the fitness industry … Jim developed a successful fitness and nutrition philosophy that focuses on developing and keeping a "fit lifestyle." Currently Jim provides personal training, and gives seminars, cooking demonstrations, and supermarket shopping tours in the Philadelphia area. He also offers "restaurant coaching" and conducts support groups for people who struggle with eating issues. Jim has written three books: the Fat to Muscle Challenge, the Ultimate Guide to Fat Burning & Muscle Building for Men Over 40, and Good to Go: Take Your Diet to Work. He enjoys competing in bodybuilding competitions, running 5k and half marathons, Buddhist meditation, educational vacations, healthy gourmet food, and vintage automobiles. |
