SMART SNACKING – Some delicious ideas for beating hunger while helping your body to burn fat

It’s been a while since my last post and I am happy to be back. I have been spending more time on the spiritual side of life- working on what’s inside rather than constantly focusing on the outside. I’ve come to the conclusion that you need a balance between the body and the spirit. One cannot exist happily with out the other.
My goal is to help you tame the body while enhancing the spiritual side of your life. I am not trying to prostelytize or preach about religion but rather to use the deeper parts of our selves to become the best version of you and to live a more peaceful, satisfying and higher quality life.

Okay – Enough with the sermons! Let’s talk about snacks.
If you want to eat well and lose weight without starving yourself you need a SNACK STRATEGY.

Snacking wisley can help you maintain a higher level of metabolism, and keep your body burning fat calories all day long. Psychologically it’s nice to know you can have something good to eat between meals so you are not always fighting hunger and cravings.

HERE ARE MY TOP FIVE SNACKS FOR THIS WEEK

1) YOGURT AND PEACH PARFAIT- In a glass or portable plastic storage container layer 8oz of Greek yogurt, 1 tbs of Chia or Falx seeds, 1 chopped peach , plum or your favorite fruit and 2 packs of splenda or Truvia sweetener

2) Protein Bar – Extend apple cinnamon bar. From www. extend.com

3) Tortilla Wrap- Stuff a trader Joe’s low carb tortilla with a half cup of cottage cheese and a half cup of diced fruit- add sweetner if you like

4) One half of a medium size baked sweet potato topped with 1/4cup of pineapple yogurt, a tablespoon of Walnuts and cinnamon with truvia mixed in.

5) Slice a bosc pear into 16 slices as thin as possible and eat with one and a half ounces of Cabot 75% reduced calorie cheddar cheese.
